Tight at the top of Singles League

Week four of the Copyshop Indoor Bowls has seen the top three players in the Singles League all holding 9 points and only separated only by chalk difference. In the top spot is Muriel Cain who defeated Alan Franklin 30-5 with John Kewley losing 12-13 to Mike Moyer and Win Kewley taking a 12-9 win against Rob Matthews. In the remaining match we saw newcomer Gordon Wynne-Smythe beat Marilyn Ellison 17-7.

In the Premier Pairs Cheesemakers beat Young Guns 3-1, Villans and the Villa Boys drew 2-2, Ramsey Raiders beat the Officials 4-0 and in the remaining match of the night we saw a strong performance from Dragons as they beat Tee Pegs 4-0. This means that the Cheesemakers lead the league with 13 points and Dragons are second on 12 points with Villans in third place on 10 points.

In the First Division Pairs the Spinners defeated the top team Ramsey Wallys 4-0, Stan and Ollie also came away with a 4-0 victory against TOU and Enigma and How Much? Drew 2-2. The final game of the evening saw Castletown Crofters and I in 4 also drawing 2-2 which meant that 1 in 4 now move into first position on 11 points followed by Ramsey Wallys on 9 points and in third place are How Much? also on 9 points.

The Friday Afternoon Pairs saw the Woodbourne Reds pairing of Mike Moyer and Darryl Gribbin hold leaders OK to a 2-2 draw, Rejects beat Em and Bee 4-0 and Dragons and High Jacks drew 2-2. The outcome of this is that OK still lead on 12 points followed by Dragons on 10 points and the Rejects pair of Phil Kerruish and Steve Cook move into third place with 8 points.

The ever popular Tuesday Morning League once more saw some good bowling with Dragons beating Ramsey Raiders 4-2, Jacks on a Roll beating Early Birds 4-2 and Onchan Royals losing 2-4 to league leaders Villans. Hillbillies edged a 4-2 win over Castletown Crofters in a close match and Thru the Gap lost 0-6 to Maxums. The league positions after this are Villans top on 17 points, Dragons second on 16 points and in third place are Onchan Royals on 14 points.

In the Premier Teams Cheesemakers beat Villans 4-2, Saltire lost 0-6 to Bay City Bowlers, Birdies beat Ramsey Raiders 4-2 and Dragons beat Ramsey Wallys 4-2. This means that Villans lead on 16 points followed by Cheesemakers on 15 points and Birdies on 14 points.

The First Division Teams saw leaders Spinners beat Team CAOS 5-1 while second placed OK lost 4-2 to Optimists and Castletown Crofters beat Oddballs 4-2. The outcome of this is that Spinners are in first position with 19 points followed by Castletown Crofters on 12 points and OK are now in third place also with 12 points.
