Simple Minds take Wednesday Team League Title

In the Copyshop Wednesday Team League, champions Simple Minds held Dragons to two sets. The race for second place is still wide open. Dumb, Dumber and Dumbest sit just one point ahead of Villans, who drew with Emerald Easers. Meanwhile, with only two points separating Crown Greeners (44) and Saltire (42), the battle for fourth place will go down to the final match.

Two teams remain in contention for the Premier Pairs League title, with Dragons still leading the way after securing a 2-set win. They have two matches remaining. Simple Minds are still firmly in the hunt and could collect a maximum 12 points from their final three games to snatch the title if Dragons slip up. Minds strengthened their challenge by taking both sets against Ayre Assassins. Lee Don look secure in third place, having built enough of a cushion to stay ahead of Ayre Assassins. Elsewhere, Douglas Old Boys and J & A shared the spoils, as did Green Machine and Statler and Waldorf.

In the Morning Team League, the top three places are already confirmed. Villans sit top, followed by KCS Sunshine Band in second and Ramsey Raiders in third. However, the remainder of the table is still to be decided. Castletown Crofters claimed a full win over Early Birds and are now level on points, making their final match crucial. Bowling Stones picked up three sets against The Wolves to climb further up the standings.

There was no movement in the First Division Pairs League, as all matches ended in draws. Three teams are still in with a chance of lifting the title. Castletown Crofters remain at the top of the table. Five points behind are CC & Me, with 1-in-4 six points off the lead. The decisive fixture could be the final match of the season, where CC & Me face 1-in-4.

A 2-set win for Bowlistics has almost guaranteed them the Triples League title. They now lead by five points from GGs, who drew with Castletown Crofters. Optimist also shared the points and sit just one point behind GGs. With two fixtures left to play, every point remains vital.

Congratulations to KT Sunshine Band, confirmed as Friday Pairs League winners. They top the table with a commanding nine-point lead. CC & Me finished second, with Weather Girls taking third place.

In the First Division Single League, congratulations go to Gary Merrill, who has been crowned league winner in his debut season of indoor bowls, losing only two matches all year. Tony Lloyd-Davies finished second, with Paul Routledge in third place. In the Premier Singles League, Wayne Roberts claimed the title after losing just once all season. Stuart Garrett finished a close second, only two points adrift, while Paula Garrett secured third place.
