Top spot for Top Dogs in the Copyshop sponsored Friday afternoon pairs

The tight, low-scoring match between CC & Me and Top Dogs could have gone either way but the Friday Afternoon Pairs league leaders took both sets 4-5, so 4 valuable points to the ‘canines’.  Maxums managed to draw one set against second-placed Rejects to gain a useful point; the match ending 1-3. One set apiece for Tinker & Bell and The Bowling Stones in their match to move The Stones up one place. Crown Greeners lost the first set to US, then had a comfortable win in the second. GGs took both sets in their win against Watties.

Earlier in the week LIV Bowls kept their 100% record by taking both sets from Northern Lights in the Premier Pairs.  The result of the match between Villa Boys and Simple Minds would decide which team moved into second place and Simple Minds took both sets to grab the slot . Villans started well taking the first set against Blues Brothers, however, the latter took the second, only giving away 2 chalks. Dumb and Dumber had a convincing win against Officials taking them up to 4th place.

Changes in the Tuesday Morning League as Ramsey Raiders moved to the top after only losing the pairs match against Castletown Crofters. The Morganites started well, winning the triples against Early Birds Then the latter took both the singles and pairs. Villans took all 3 sets and maximum points from their match against The Bowling Stones. KCS Sunshine Band built up a nice lead in the triples against Maxums, but then Maxums took the singles and pairs. Hillbillies, managed to take the triples and pairs against Onchan Royals who had been the league leaders up to this point.

In the First Division Pairs, TinJo moved off bottom spot when they held Castletown Crofters to a match draw. A drawn match between The Two Amigos and Enigma then the same scenario when Douglas Old Boys took on GGs, one set apiece. In the match between US2 and TOU, the latter took the first set in double figures but US2 came back to win the second 6-4. J&S drew 5-5 in the first set against 1 in 4 but doubled that score to take the second.

No change in the Premier Triples with Ramsey Raiders keeping top spot after holding on to a draw against Simple Minds. Villans took both sets from Saltire to give them their second win of the season. Crown Greeners drew the first set against Birdies and won the second.

Although losing one set to Oddballs, Bowlistics did enough to win the second to increase their lead in the First Division Triples. Castletown Crofters move up to second place after their win against Fab Fogies. Morganites kept IBS to single figures in both sets to take the points.

In the Singles league, Stuart Garrett moves to the top of the table after his win over Gordon Corrin. Mike Ashmole had his first win of the season against Win Kewley. Paula Garrett took the points against John Kewley, and Shirley Corrin and Muriel Cain drew their match.
