Last full week of 2023 in the CopyShop sponsored Indoor Bowls Leagues

In the last match before the Christmas break, top and bottom of the Copyshop Premier Pairs played each other when leaders, LIV Bowls, took a two-set win over Officials. Dumb and Dumber drew against Simple Minds, keeping Minds in second place. Dumb and Dumber moved up to third when Blues Brothers took both sets against Villa Boys, the latter dropping a place. Villans and Tee Pegs took a set each.

The match to decide who would be top of the Tuesday Morning League going into the Christmas break was played between Onchan Royals and Ramsey Raiders.  Christmas cheer for Royals as their 4-2 win stretched their lead to 54, four points ahead of second place Raiders. Third place Villans had wins in the triples and pairs, with opponents Castletown Crofters taking the singles. Hillbillies also had wins in the triples and pairs, but Morganites secured 2 points from their singles win. A win in the triples and singles against The Bowling Stones was enough for KCS Sunshine Band to maintain fourth position, and the match between Maxums and Early Birds ended in a draw on points and chalks – 3 points 19 chalks apiece.

Teams in the First Division Pairs will play another match before their Christmas break. Leaders J&S took both sets from Douglas Old Boys securing a four-point cushion. Despite their loss Old Boys hang on to third place, as Castletown Crofters were held to a draw by TOU. Second place, 1 in 4, took both set from TinJo and Christmas came early for The Newby’s as they won their first match of the season against The Two Amigos. GGs and Enigma managed a draw.

In the Premier Triples, Crown Greeners had no answer to Simple Minds as they racked up 31 chalks and a 2-set win. With league leaders Ramsey Wallys being kept to a draw by Villans, Minds are closing the points gap. The gap between second and third widened when Saltire took maximum points from their second win of the season over third place Ramsey Raiders.

Bowlistics maintained their top spot in the First Division Triples by taking a 2-set win over Castletown Crofters. Wins in both sets for Morganites against Oddballs and Optimists against Fab Fogies moved both teams up a spot, second and third respectively while pushing Crofters down to fourth.

The top of the Friday Afternoon Pairs League table stays the same as Top Dogs and Rejects took both sets from their opponents. Maxums keeps fourth place after a win over The Bowling Stones and Crown Greeners have regained fifth place with a 2-set win over Tinker & Bell. Watties and CC & me drew their match.

Stuart Garrett took the win over John Kewley to extend his lead in the Singles league. Third place Muriel Cain closed the gap on second place Paula Garrett after Cain took the win. There were also wins for Mike Moyer over Win Kewley and Gordon Corrin over Mike Ashmole.
