Cheesemakers top the Premier Pairs League

As we moved into week three of the Copyshop Indoors Bowls season we saw Cheesemakers move into the top spot in the Premier Pairs with a 4-0 win over Ramsey Raiders. The Villa Boys got their third draw of the season with a 2-2 result against the Blues Brothers while Young Guns and Tee Pegs also played out a 2-2 draw. In the final game of the evening, the Villans pairing of Paula and Stuart Garrett played well to beat the Officials 4-0 leaving Cheesemakers top on 10 points followed by the Dragons and the Villans who are both on 8 points.

In the First Division Pairs the League leaders Ramsey Wallys were held to a 2-2 draw by How Much?, 1 in 4 played out a 2-2 draw with Enigma, Stan and Ollie beat Tinjo 4-0 and a strong performance from Castletown Crofters saw them beat Spinners 4-0. This means that Ramsey Wallys are still in the top spot with 9 points followed by 1 in 4 also on 9 points and How Much? are in third place on 7 points.

In the Premier Teams, all three games ended with a 4-2 score with Villans beating Saltire, Cheesemakers beating Bay City Bowlers and Ramsey Wallys taking victory over Birdies. The leaders at this stage are Villans on 14 points by Ramsey Wallys and Cheesemakers both on 11 points.

In the First Division Teams, the Spinners strong start to the season was ended by OK who beat them 4-2, Maxums beat Oddballs 6-0 and Team Caos lost 2-4 to Optimists. In top spot after this we still have Spinners on 14 points followed by OK on 10 points and Maxums also on 10 points.

The Tuesday Morning Teams saw Villans beat Early Birds 6-0, Ramsey Raiders lose 0-6 to Maxums and Onchan Royals beat Jacks on a Roll 4-2. In the remaining match, we saw Hillbillies beat Thru the Gap 6-0 which means that Villans now lead with 13 points followed by Dragons and Onchan Royals both on 12 points.

The Friday Afternoon Pairs saw OK draw 2-2 with High Jacks while Celtic Thunder also drew 2-2 with Rejects and Sunset Rollers beat Woodbourne Reds 3-1. This means that OK now lead with 10 points followed by Dragons on 8 points and in third place are Sunset Rollers on 7 points.

In the Singles League, we saw John Kewley beat Gordon Wynne-Smythe 15-9 while Marilyn Ellison beat Win Kewley 11-9 and Rob Matthews beat Mike Moyer 18-4. The one remaining match saw Muriel Cain beat Dee Lewis 16-7 and all this means that John Kewley has moved into the top position in the League on 9 points followed by Muriel Cain on 6 points and in third place is Rob Matthews also on 6 points.

The Isle of Man Indoors Bowls Triples Championship is to be played week commencing the 15th November and entries and the closing date for entries is 7th November.
