Results Round Up

Leaders Dragon maintain their top spot in the Copyshop Premier Pairs league, following a hard-fought draw against second-place Simple Minds. Despite a strong start by Villa Boys (who took the first set 19–6), Lee Don fought back in the second set, winning 10–4 to level the match. In other results, J & A were locked in a tight contest with Statler & Waldorf, drawing both on chalks and points. All other matches ended in draws, keeping the table largely unchanged.

At the top of the Tuesday AM League, Villans and Ramsey Raiders couldn’t be separated as they drew their match. Despite the stalemate, Villans hold onto their position at the top of the table. In a closely contested match, Early Birds moved closer to the leaders, taking 4 points from their encounter with KCS Sunshine Band, while Stand & Deliver had a tough day, managing just 1 point after drawing the doubles match with The Wolves, who won both the triples and singles. Castletown Crofters were in fine form, only dropping a single point when their doubles match against Bowling Stones ended in a draw. Meanwhile, Maxums completed a dominant 6-point victory over Northern Lights, although the match was closer than the scoreline suggests.

1-in-4 hold onto their top spot in the First Division Pairs League, drawing their match against TOU. However, Castletown Crofters are breathing down their necks after a 2-set victory that sees them climb to second place, just one point behind the leaders. It’s been a change of fortune for Pin Pals, who lose their second place after CC & Me won both sets against them, propelling CC & Me up the table. Atlas also recorded their first win of the season, taking both sets against Enigma, while Misfits and Yesterday’s News played out a draw.

Simple Minds continue to lead the Copyshop Team League, with a solid 2-point buffer between themselves and second place, despite dropping a couple of points in their match this week. Crown Greeners remain in second, having wins in the triples and singles against Saltire.  Elsewhere, Dave’s Pride leapfrog Dragons on chalk difference as both teams now sit on 18 points, after Dave’s Pride overcame the challenge of Dragons. Villans were in imperious form, taking all points in their match, including a huge 47-chalk haul, further consolidating their position in the league.

The Triples League saw Optimists extend their lead to 3 points after winning over IBS. A tight contest at the top sees three teams now tied on 16 points, with Bowlistics moving into third place after their win over Ever Hopefuls, while Castletown Crofters slipped to fourth despite a 2-set victory over GGs, who now sit second.

In the Friday Pairs League, CC & Me remain clear at the top, maintaining a 4-point advantage after a comfortable 2-set win. KT Sunshine Band remain in second place, also taking both sets from Emanden UTD. Weather Girls climbed to fourth after a 2-set win over Top Dogs, while Maxums and Crown Greeners shared the spoils in a drawn match.

On Wednesday, members of the IOMIBA committee presented a cheque to the MSPCA. The final total raised from donations made by members at the Muriel Cain Memorial Round Robin amounted to £225.
