A set draw and a win against Top Dogs was enough to put Dragons 2-points clear at the top of the Afternoon Pairs. Three teams on the same score of 22 are separated only by that all important chalk difference. Second placed Crown Greeners drew their match against Celtic Thunder, now fourth, as a 2-set win for KT Sunshine Band, over Bowling Stones, move them up to third. Drawn games for Maxums against Tinker and Bell and Sunset Rollers against Emanden Utd.
Premier Pairs league leaders, Ayre Assassins, extended their points lead after a 2-set win over Blues Brothers. Second placed Simple Minds dropped a point when Tee Pegs held them to draw in the first set. There was a draw in the match between Dragons and Villans, and Villa Boys took both sets against Aljays.
Maximum points for Villans keep them at the top of the Tuesday Team League, they also added to their chalk difference, which may be significant come the end of the season, as Onchan Royals dropped 2 points when Maxums’ singles player won the set 7-6. Ramsey Raiders also missed the opportunity to get 6-points when Team Triskelion won the triples. In other games, Early Birds won the triples and singles, however, Hillbillies had a strong finish in the pairs. Castletown Crofters won the triples and pairs, and Bowling Stones won the singles.
The top 2 teams played against each other in the First Division Pairs. League leaders, Enigma, did enough to keep them top with a draw against Douglas Old Boys. A 2-set win for TOU against GGs keep TOU in third. After losing the first set, CC & me just missed out on taking the second set from 1-in-4 when the set ended 5-6. 1-in-4 now move to fourth. Castletown Crofters, and Bandits both, had a 2-set win over their opponents.
Villans move back to the top of the Wednesday Team League after taking full points from their match against Morganites. Dragons dropped 2 vital points when Possa Bowls won the pairs. Simple Minds keep third after taking 6-points from New Avengers, and the match between Crown Greeners and Spectrum ended with a 3-set win for Spectrum. Birdies also added 6-points to their tally after their match against Saltire.
Bowlistics move to top the Thursday Triples after a 2-set win over GGs. Castletown Crofters, with the same points but with a lower chalk difference, are second as they drew their match against New Avengers. Optimists remain in third after taking both sets from Oddbowls and Possa Bowls hung on to draw in one set to gain a point from their opponents IBS.
Paula Garrett remains at the top of the Singles league, despite losing to Stuart Garrett, who now moves to second. Muriel Cain is now in third after winning against Mike Moyer
